Awakening

First stop wire placement the nurse welcomes me with a smile, why am I always the youngest on in this office? The looks I get are they wondering what is this little girl doing here or do they know she has the Big C too?  Please get undressed fron the waste up and then come into the room.  An all to familiar site mammagram machine but this time a chair fit for a queen!! ha  The chair sterile white covered with a paper gown.  Instantly tears did I say TEARS, the nurse said "this is the easy part" and put her hand on my shoulder all I can think about is VALIUM quick!!!
"Valium I need Valium" the nurse quickly said no problem I will get it from your purse.. I exhaled.
One sip of water and the 10 minute countdown to calm will begin. I just remember they squished my breast between the plates of the mammogram machine, I felt a pinch, burn and saw blood.  Did I tell yall I'm a nurse.... Oh no ANXIETY close your eyes I said breath.  And then peace was still.  Thank you Jesus for grace, and valium.
I left in a wheelchair with wires sticking out of my right breast. off to surgery I go.
