Did you know that breast cancer is the most common cancer among African American women?

The incidence of breast cancer is 10 percent lower in African American women than in white women; however among young African American women (under 40) the incidence is higher.

Breast Cancer Report

Today was the big day, the pathology report shall be revealed.  I already know that the "margins" are clear.  For those who don't know margins are the area of tissue that surrounds the cancer.  Relevance: it is important to have a least 2mm or more of cancer" free" area around the tumor.

FINAL DIAGNOSIS
1. Intermediate grade duct carcinoma in situ with rare calcifications which appears to have replaced a tubular adenoma.
2.  NO evidence of invasive neoplasm
3. The margins are clear by 3 mm or more.

Of course there was much more medical jargon but the important part I have shared. All of this is great news!  I did get referrals to medical oncology and radiation oncology, but absolutely no CHEMO. (praise God)
So today I am thankful for early detection it really saves lives.  My brother has arrived from Ethiopia with his family for Christmas, so I will close by saying,

Thank you to all who love me and I love you more!!!!!!
